I’VE WATCHED THE EXORCIST ABOUT 167 SEVEN TIMES AND EVERY TIME I WATCH IT IT’S FUNNIER… NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU’RE TALKING TO A DEAD MAN… WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT NOW? Do you think I am qualified?
A print of the film has surfaced with some added/alternate scenes
The Geffen logo is accompanied by an eerie version of the song Banana Boat (sung by the film’s composer Danny Elfman). This version of the film is about 2 minutes shorter than the theatrical release, has a few extra scenes and some others missing, is in black and white, and has a timecode at the bottom. This version has 4 main differences: Alternate Scene: The scene where Adam tries to leave the house after he and his wife died is different. Instead of a desert, he sees an empty darkness full of rolling gears. Additional Scenes: There is an added scene where Lydia shows the pictures she took of Adam and Barbra. Then, when her mother yells at her and accuses her of having holes in the sheets, Lydia runs upstairs and tries to convince her father that the photos are real.

There’s more in the scene where the adults search the attic for ghosts, where we see a desert monster trying to eat Adam and Barbra while they’re hanging from the attic window. Finally, there’s an extra 2 minute scene at the end where we see Lydia cycling home from school and her parents on the phone with Jane telling her they don’t want to sell the house. Lydia’s dance scene is shorter in this version and there is no scene with Beetlejuice in the waiting room. The film ends with the last exterior shot of the house. Attaway & Irving Burgie (as Lord Burgess)] Featuring Harry Belafonte courtesy of RCA Records. This is one of Tim Burton’s best movies. Its second season tells the story of a married couple (the Maitlands, played to great effect by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) who accidentally die on a bridge and are targeted by an upper-class family (including a young but well-acted Winona Ryder) and a strange but creepy a ghost (with the most) named Beetleguise (or Beetlejuice in the laugh scene), played very intricately by Michael Keaton. Sure, this plot might sound a little anti-climactic, since it’s mostly shenanigans and not really a focused story, but so what? In a movie where you’ll see sandworms from Saturn, shrimp that latch onto calypso, and a nut who’s seen the exorcist 167 times (insert quote here), why bother with a plot. Great fun every time you watch it.
