Texans for Alcohol Reform is a grassroots organization committed to modernizing outdated alcohol laws that restrict when, where, and how legal-age adults can purchase beer, wine, and spirits. By advocating for greater consumer choice and economic freedom for small businesses, we aim to bring Texas alcohol laws into the 21st century.
Texans deserve the freedom to make their own choices about when and where they buy alcohol—without unnecessary government interference. It’s time to update these antiquated laws and put consumers and small businesses first.

We support legislation that increases consumer choice and promotes the growth of the wine, beer and spirits industry in Texas.
During the 89th Legislative Session (2025), we are focused on supporting the ability of spirits retailers and distilleries to sell spirits on Sundays. The government should not be in the business of telling businesses which days of the week they can be open or closed. This decision should be left to business owners to decide what is best for their business.
We are hopeful that bills will be filed in the House and Senate to advance these goals. So far, we are supporting H.B. 679 by Representative John Bucy that would allow for a local option election to legalize the sell of spirits by spirits retailers and distributors on Sundays.
We are against any legislation that will reduce consumer choice, artificially raise prices, or limit the growth of the wine, beer and spirits industries in Texas.
